The article deals with topical problems of modern socio-humanitarian and, specifically, legal science, concerning tendencies of dogmatization and relativization of scientific knowledge. It is pointed out that postmodern trends in science have led to the fact that conservative attitudes are faced with the opposite desire to abandon the old standards of an unambiguous understanding of the foundations of scientific knowledge and attitude to the subject of scientific research and their results. Violation of the harmonious relationship between the new and the old in epistemology leads to significant consequences for science and education. The author comes to the conclusion that the solution of the problem of dogmatism and relativism in domestic jurisprudence can be solved by achieving a balance between continuity and innovation in the research and educational process.
