This article is devoted to the problem of the formation of the information field in the public environment with the help of polycode format texts. The article deals with the interaction of verbal and nonverbal informational codes transmission in the context of the addressee's pragmatic attitudes, the criteria for successful communication, as well as the distribution of information through various channels of a polycode text. The question of determining the polycode character of the text, as well as the functioning of the polycode text as an instrument and result of communication is raised. The article provides certain examples of polycode texts functioning in an urban environment and analyzes the nature of their pragmatics. From a practical point of view, the article forms several principles for the compilation and analysis of polycode texts, which will help the authors and recipients to create conditions for the most effective exchange of information.
