The issues of the formation of the officer corps of the Nizhny Novgorod reserve militia of 1812 are considered. The nature and features of the organizational process of collecting the militia officer corps are analyzed. The processes of formation of the personnel base of the reserve militia are characterized. The issues of appointment to the post of commander of the reserve militia and staffing of the militia officer corps were considered. Based on sources from the funds of the Central Archive of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the features and forms of organizational changes in the structure of the reserve militia officer corps in 1812-1813 were identified and characterized.
