The article is devoted to the promotion of employment of disabled people in Russia. The study focuses on the powers and legal regulation of the subjects of the Russian Federation. The analysis of normative legal acts and the problems of employment promotion are given. The picture of employment of disabled people in the subjects of the Russian Federation is considered extremely uneven. The proposal on the development of protected employment of disabled people with the main role of federal authorities was supported.
