Verbalization of the notions of definiteness and indefiniteness considers their ontological and epistemological aspects. The aim of the article is to determine gradation of definiteness and indefiniteness of utterances. Terms of the definiteness of an utterance are established including the reference of inserted noun phrases and parameters of the predicate. The undertaken analysis results in classifying utterances into concrete-definite, partially definite, weakly indefinite and strongly indefinite.
