The article contains information about the family history of N.P. Sokolov - extracts from his father's formulary list, birth and baptism metrical notation of N. P. Sokolov, information about parents, brother and sisters. The main focus is on the Petersburg period of the teacher's life (1914 - 1918) - service at the Karl May Gymnasium, studies at the Imperial St. Petersburg University and at the Imperial Archaeological Institute. Reconstruction of the communication network of N.P. Sokolov during his work at the Gymnasium has been made. A complete list of colleagues in the gymnasium and selective information on teachers and students of the school are included.
