The article examines the priority areas of cooperation between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The content of the political and economic dialogue between key officials of the two countries is analyzed. The development of trade and economic partnership between the two states in 2011-2023 is discussed. The features of cooperation between Syria and Iran in the fields of economics, trade and construction are considered. Attention is drawn to the role of the individual - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad - in the recent history of bilateral relations. The achievements of Syrian-Iranian ties were identified, and the areas of closest cooperation between Damascus and Tehran were identified. The author proposes a periodization of Syrian-Iranian trade relations during the presidencies of Hafez and Bashar Assad.
