The work examines the text of the chronicle article of 1435 in monuments of Moscow and Rostov origin. Based on textual analysis, the article shows that the opinion entrenched in historiography about the primacy of Moscow news and their influence on the text of the Rostov chronicles in describing the events of the feudal war in the second quarter of the 15th century can be questioned. The second part of the article of 1435, telling about the “standing” of the troops of Vasily Vasilyevich and Vasily Yuryevich near the Kostroma Ipatiev Monastery, is clearly primary in the Rostov group of chronicles and influenced the text of the Moscow ones.
