The article deals with the fragments of Chronograph of archbishop Pachomius dedicated to history of Rus’ until the second third of 13th century. First time in historiography, this part of the Chonograph is analyzed in detail. The research analyses origins of every of the fragments in question and provides hypotheses explaining the reasons for the author’s appeal to one or another narrative. The conducted research reveals that although the considered part of Chronograph of Pachomius is mostly of compilative nature in also contains some original narratives. Author of the article concludes that Cronograph of Pachomius fits in broader context of revival of interest in Old Russian past in the middle of 17
