In this article, the author considers a special research tool: a biographical methodological approach. The inclusion of this approach in the cognitive tools of the science of the history of legal and political doctrines is justified, since it allows us to reveal the subject content of theoretical and historical science to the greatest extent. Understanding the meaning of the teaching through the knowledge of the biography of the personality of its author is the methodological orientation of the researcher of political and legal thought. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to develop theoretical knowledge on the methodology of the science of the history of legal and political doctrines.
