The problem of «inexpressible» in the poetry of Vl .Solovyov is considered in comparison with the tradition of A. Fet's poetry. An analysis of Vl. Solovyov's creative interpretation of the image of flight and the function of the rhetorical device of complaining about the powerlessness of a word is presented. In Vl. Solovyov's poetry, unlike in A. Fet's poems, the theme of «inexpressible» is coloured in ironical tones, while Fet's images-symbols are the signs of a mystical revelation, therefore the problem of «inexpressible» as presented by Vl. Solovyov turns to the problem of representing «strange»,«out-of-this-world» things.
