| Existing points of view on the nature of word-stress (word-accent) in Russian and foreign phonology and on its interpretation by means of the English terms «stress» and «accent» are considered. Etymological premises for the existence of these synonyms are also taken into account. Besides, an attempt is made to analyze the degree of correlation between the above-mentioned terms in Russian and English. |
