Abstract
The analysis of the term «Pletenie sloves» («weaving of words») usage in medieval Slavonic literature shows that its meaning depends on the context. So if this word combination describes heathen rhetorician's or philosopher's works it has a negative meaning, but if Christian writer's God-inspired creativity is the matter this term gets positive semantics. The word combination «Pletenie sloves» («weaving of words») used by medieval Slavonic writers for their work description should be considered in the traditionally positive sense of the term «pletenie» (words or crown braiding) in the liturgical texts.
