The focus of the paper is on the analysis of linguistic prognostication and its social and psychological premises. The analysis is carried out on the basis of the use of German personal names in speech. Speech behaviour is determined by the speakers' personalities and by some social factors. The social - psychological approach permits to extend the process of understanding, contributes to the successful interpersonal communication, and provides the information about the communicants and their relations. |
