The article is focused on the relations between A.A. Kireev and Vl.S. Solovev in 1875-1900, especially to their
polemics about Catholicism. It is shown that Solovev did not break with Slavophilism until 1887. During the
following years he came out generally from the liberal position, but some elements of conservatism were also
preserved in his social conception. At the same time, the conservative Kireev not being stranger to some minimum
claims of liberalism, the dramatic dialogue between the two thinkers became possible. |
