Characteristics of an acoustical field generated by a transverse distributed quadrupole and two in-phase moving
dipoles are calculated. Transverse quadrupoles represent jet acoustic noise sources, while in-phase dipole radiation
sources can be used in acoustic warning and alarm systems for moving vehicles. Based on the obtained theoretical
formulas, the angular distribution of acoustic pressure from these sources as dependent on their velocity and orientation
with respect to the velocity vector is analyzed. The medium anisotropy due to the moving sources has been
shown to significantly distort the directivity pattern of the distributed quadrupole, while it marginally affects the
radiation directivity of the in-phase dipoles in the considered orientation. |
