Abstract
Numerical simulation results are given of dynamic tensile testing of brittle materials using the Kolsky method and the software package LS-DYNA. An algorithm and a numerical technique to restore true power and temporal characteristics of the fracture process of a brittle material sample are proposed. A comparison is made of the pulse calculated with the account of the dispersion correction and the pulse obtained by LS-DYNA numerical simulation.
