Abstract
It is shown that a self-consistent mathematical model that includes elasticity theory and kinetic equations for different types of point defect densities can be reduced to a nonlinear evolution equation, which combines wellknown equations of wave dynamics: Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers and Klein-Gordon equations.
