We examine two personalities in «The History of Armenia» by Agathangelos: Saint Gregory, the first head of Armenian Church, and the Great King of Trdat, who were the main heroes in one of the most important periods of Armenian history (the conversion of Armenians to Christianity). The authors come to the conclusion that the images of Saint Gregory and Trdat created by Agathangelos, in the conditions of the formation of the Christian religion in Armenia and foreign domination helped the historian to reinforce the foundations of Christian faith in the minds of Armenians.
