| We consider main trends of the Nizhni Novgorod zemstvo activities in the area of public education during the period from the implementation of the 1864 Regulations up to the 1890 zemstvo counter-reform. Based on the analysis of laws and regulations, records, statistics and unpublished archival materials, the article highlights the main aspects of the educational policies of the local self-government bodies of the Nizhni Novgorod province in the post-reform period. |
