| Models of strength and fracture toughness of nanocomposites are developed on the basis of the crack bridging approach. The region of weak or damaged bonds in nanocomposite is considered as a crack with a bridged zone. The bridging stresses in this zone are induced by nanotubes or nanoparticles which connect crack surfaces.. |
