The author examines the crisis in Armenia in «The History of Armenia» by Faustus of Byzantium - one of the most dramatic periods of Armenian history in the fourth century, when the Byzantine and Sassanid Empires divided Armenia in 387. The author comes to the following conclusions: first, that «The History of Armenia» created by Faustus of Byzantium was the ideology of yet another uprising of Armenians against the Persians in 470s, and, second, that in the conditions of foreign domination the work provided a model for overcoming the crisis (the inner unity of the church and the state authorities).
