| Ancient origins of the comic in the novel «Shelmufsky» by K. Reiter are examined. The carnival motifs born from the Roman Saturnalia and used by the author in his work are described. Particular attention is paid to the motifs of «gluttony», «transformation» and «election – coronation – debunking – killing the carnival king». |
