We examine a number of works by the contemporary French prose writer Pascal Quignard. In the poetics of these works, antiquity is reflected at various levels: in the plot, in the system of сharacters, in allusions and reminiscences, in the language of the text. In the works under analysis, the author pays most attention to the Roman history and culture and highlights the processes and phenomena there which are closely related to the contemporary epoch. |
