A formulation and a method of numerically analyzing generalized axisymmetric problems on twisting elastoplastic bodies of revolution with large deformations under inhomogeneous stressed-strained state are presented. The method is used to construct deformation diagrams based on the results of twisting tests. Experimental and numerical studies of processes of elastoplastic deformation and loss of stability in cylindrical specimens under simple and complex loading by torsion-tension are given, as well as of the penetration with torsion of a spherical indenter into a plate.
