«The Singing Revolution» (1986-1991) was rich in commemorative events which were aimed at restoring the images of independent Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in mass consciousness. Public movements used historical memory management tools to create a special revolutionary environment. Subsequently, political actions that were not devoid of commemorative components were introduced in this environment. It is no coincidence that the name of one of commemoration genres was taken to denote the revolutionary process in the Soviet Baltic republics.
