The political, economic, cultural and legal crisis of the early twentieth century brought to life a number of philosophical ideas, including the idea of autarky that was put forward by Russian ?migr? philosophers who called themselves Eurasians. The current political and economic crisis has similar characteristics, and one of the reactions to it is anti-globalism. The ideologists of the anti-globalist movement point to the dangers of globalism’s many trends and, just like Eurasians did it a hundred years ago, offer their solutions for preserving national and cultural identity.
