The article presents an analysis of persons’ nominations (agentives) formed by the prefixal-suffixal way. The research is based on the material of the neologisms of the last 50 years taken from the dictionaries of new words, the National Russian Corpus and the Internet sources. The purpose of the research is to identify the models for forming new designations of a person in the modern Russian language. We determine semantic groups of new words, both conventional and occasional derivatives, and pragmatic features of their usage in mass media and in the Internet comments. It can be concluded that the discussed way of word-formation helps modern native speakers of the Russian language to realize their creative potential.
