| The article examines the reception of ancient armour in the works of the Italian Renaissance armourers. The author analyzes the decoration of armour, compares it with the extant examples of Roman armament and comes to the conclu- sion that the works of Italian Renaissance armourers not only copied the main features of the Roman armament, but also became the starting point for the scholarly studies of ancient Roman armament. |
