This article continues text analysis of concessive constructions of the Russian language in the framework of the anthropocentric linguistic paradigm. Concessive conjunctions are considered as a means of encoding and decoding of text meanings. The study is based on the assumption that an auxiliary part of speech can become an expressive element in the author's text - a means for typifying, materializing the author's ideas and attitudes, achieving expression and creating the reader's impression. Using the material of Leo Tolstoy's novels «War and Peace» and «Anna Karenina», we reveal various functions of concessive propositions: characterological, intensifying, expressive (including humorous), etc. It is concluded that the speech system (as opposed to the language system) has the potential for rendering semantic text increments and expressive increments. The results of this study contribute to the developing area of linguistics - anthropocentric functional communicative analysis of connective words in the aspect of their text system.
