This article presents an analysis of some philosophical underpinnings of Graham Joyce's works. Philosophical ideas of Graham Joyce are tied up with the philosophy of Algernon Blackwood, British writer of the late 19th - early 20th century. A. Blackwood was under the influence of German Idealism, and German physiologist Gustav Fechner in particular. With the use of the methods of comparative analysis and cultural-historical studies, the research aims to demonstrate the relation between philosophical ideas of Gr. Joyce and A. Blackwood. Despite some similarity of the views of Graham Joyce and Algernon Blackwood, Gr. Joyce does nоt blindly follow A. Blackwood, but adopts his ideas and transforms them in his own way.
