The task of a mobile user location is considered. It is assumed that the user is served by a communication system
comprising several base stations equipped with frequency scanning antenna arrays. The location is performed on the
basis of the triangulation method involving two or three base stations. The estimation error of the user location has
been shown to substantially depend on the value of angular dispersion arising due to multipath propagation. By using
the third base station, it is possible to increase significantly the user positioning accuracy compared to the case of
two base stations. |
