The problem of nonlinear non-stationary surface waves in a deep ideal fluid generated by submerged elliptic cylinder is investigated. The method involves the reduction of basic equations to an integral-differential system for the free surface elevation, as well as for normal and tangential fluid velocities at the free surface. Small-time solution asymptotics is constructed for the case where the cylinder moves with constant acceleration from the state of rest. |
