The use dielectric barrier discharge for the delay of laminar turbulent transition excited by natural flow disturbances is investigated experimentally. Optimal location of electrodes and the operational regime of high-voltage impulse generator providing maximal downstream shift of the transition location were found. It is demonstrated that the 13% increase of the laminar part of the boundary layer can be obtained using a barrier discharge on the cross-flow electrodes. |
