Аннотация

Статья посвящена проблеме формирования и эволюции образа Диомеда в греческой мифологии. Анализ античной традиции показывает, что образы Диомеда Фракийского и Диомеда Аргосского имели общий корень. Автор приходит к выводу, что фракийский царь и аргосский герой являются разными вариантами развития культовой фигуры, которая некогда была связана с северо-востоком Балканского полуострова и культом коня, а миф о походе Геракла во Фракию отражает реалии эпохи греческой колонизации фракийского побережья.
