Аннотация
Анализируются свидетельства литературных и эпиграфических источников личного участия римских полководцев в бою с точки зрения корреляции в них прагматических и идеологических а с- пектов военного лидерства. Показано, что так называемый комплекс Ахилла был отнюдь не чужд римлянам и соответствующие образы и примеры обнаруживают явное греческое влияние, идущее через историографические, поэтические и риторические топосы, а также через иконографические образцы, которые следует рассматривать как особый дискурс. В то же время этот дискурс основы- вался на собственно римских традициях и выражал специфически римскую идеологию и практику военного лидерства. Эти традиции, в которых большое значение придавалось индивидуальной вои н- ской доблести и военной «харизме», оставались мощным ресурсом легитимации власти как для го- сударственных деятелей Римской республики, так и для большинства императоров, которые испол ь- зовали соответствующие образы и модели в своей пропаганде.
