Аннотация

Рассматривается восприятие Рима и римской власти греческими интеллектуалами во II - начале III века. Рассмотрены методологические сложности такого исследования, изучены ключевые факторы, определявшие отношение авторов к Риму, в том числе культурная идентичность греков, специфика римского правления в греческих землях, социальное положение и особенности карьеры отдельных пи- сателей. Вопреки утвердившемуся среди современных исследователей мнению об относительном един- стве восприятия греками римской власти в эпоху «греческого возрождения», материалы статьи показы- вают, что в оценках и суждениях Плутарха, Элия Аристида, Арриана, Павсания, Галена, Флавия Филострата, Диона Кассия имеются определенные различия, которые могли быть связаны с особенностями социального положения авторов и разной степенью вовлеченности в общественную и политическую жизнь Рима.
