In this article, we consider economic and political problems related to ensuring national food security in the course of creation of interstate associations, the role and limits of supranational bodies’ authority in filling the market with high-quality and safe food products. It is noted that associations provide more possibilities for industrial cooperation and for developing a coordinated policy in various areas of interaction, but there are also some negative moments that are more often related to politics. It is important therefore to take this into account when the powers of supranational bodies are determined.
