The author analyses the portrayal of the two social systems, the socialist and the Western one, in A. Zinovev’s and E. Limonov’s works. The author highlights the conceptual similarities outlined by both writers. The aim of this research is to give a comparison of the writers’ concepts based on the comparative-typological method. Their works are built on different artistic principles, but this does not rule out the common approach to the understanding of social and philosophical problems. Both authors come to the conclusion that the common goals of the socialist and capitalist countries and the similarity of ways to achieve the goals reveal the deep relationship between the two political systems. The Western liberal-democratic socio-political model and the Soviet socialist model have certain conceptual similarities. They include total state control of human life, the cultivation of whistleblowing, manipulation of society’s consciousness, the illusory nature of individual freedom, the fundamental role of «the end justifies the means» principle.
