The role of Bogdan Belsky is defined in the implementation of the Russian state’s foreign policy in the «Crimean direction» in the 1590s. We try to find out the reasons why Boris Godunov attracted B. Belsky after a prolonged disgrace to diplomatic activities, in particular, for implementing ambassadorial exchange and the meeting with Crimeans in the autumn of 1593 near Livny. Some poorly explored pages in Bogdan Belsky’s political biography during the 1590s are examined. |
