The article examines performative phraseological units containing nominathemes with the semantics of diseases that are related to the etiological ethnic code of culture and are based on pre-Christian beliefs rooted in pagan worship by personification of disease. The aim of the study is to identify and describe such performative phraseological units in the ethnolinguistic and linguocultural aspects. The author uses the method of phraseological analysis as the main research tool. The relevance of the research is due to the lack of a comprehensive study of performative phraseological units in the Ukrainian language. The large number of sacred microtexts with negative semantics, correlated with the causative source of culture made it possible to identify nine groups of performative phraseological units with nominathemes denoting disease. This indicates the productivity of using such language formulas in Ukrainians’ communicative situations.
