The purpose of our research was to find out the causes and specific features of creative close echoes between Voznesensky and Rauschenberg, which were emphasized by the poet himself. Our task also included a comparison of their understanding of the creative process, the meaning of art, the principles of material organization. In the theoretical part of the study, the main issue was to analyze the «mirroring» as the reversibility of relations in the system «art - reality» which was the key idea for both of them. This kind of analysis has been done for the first time. The research methodology is based on the combination of comparative, typological and structural methods in their philosophical and aesthetic aspect. In the empirical part of the study, we give a comparative analysis of A. Voznesensky’s poem «Autolithograph» and R. Rauschenberg’s creative principles. A dialogue between the artist and the material, analytical poetics of the avantgarde, the relationship of intuition and construction, program eclecticism as «organic collaboration» with the elements of the world characterize both the poet and the artist. Creative work in this sense appears as a constant shifting of boundaries, continuous re-creating of the world. Ideas and things of the world are characterized by mirroring and reversibility. This is a metaphysical laboratory of the artist who searches for the meaning of existence in the empirical contemporaneity.
