Abstract
In the late 15th century, the Dominican monk Girolamo Savonarola became the leading preacher and recognized spiritual leader in Florence. In addition to his participation in political transformation of the country, the monk initiated the reform of morals in the city on the Arno. While implementing it, brother Girolamo tried to rely on children and women. One of the means of communication between Savonarola and his female followers were letters. By elucidating the specifics of the form and content of his epistles, one can explore the problem of personal experiences of the subjects involved in the Dominican monk's reforms and understand to what extent traditional cultural stereotypes related to women were manifested in Savonarola's individual correspondence.
