We examine some new elements of religious and political vocabulary created on the basis of the abbreviation ИГИЛ (ISIS) , as well as the abbreviation ИГИЛ/игил itself. The semantics and combinability of such words as игилизация, игиловщина, игиловец, игилизатор, игильщик, etc. are analyzed. Extralinguistic and linguistic reasons for the high usage frequency of the words derived from ИГИЛ are noted. We describe the cases when the words of the new religious and political vocabulary are used in a figurative meaning. The facts of such use testify to the general tendency of the political discourse (and more broadly, the mass media discourse) to use metaphorically words with negative semantics with the aim to form a certain public opinion and, in some cases, to manipulate this opinion. Some contexts of incorrect usage of the words ИГИЛ, игилизация, etc. are noted.
