The article contains an analysis of the proverbs «If you take off somebodies head you can`t execute him by hanging», «They should use the same nooses for other people» and «You have to eat cabbage soup with worms and hold your tongue», which so far have not been a subject of historical and linguistic research. The aim of the work was to analyze author's proverbs in sociolinguistic and cultural aspects. The main research tasks were as follows: to find source proverbs, to define their structural transformation mechanisms, to give a historical and linguistic commentary on the possible reasons for the formation of the novel proverbs. The research was done with the use of the descriptive and comparative methods, which included elements of component analysis, the analysis of a broad extralinguistic context as well as the analysis of dictionary definitions.
