The ontological foundation of Alexei Kolchev’s poetics, as well as the main motifs of his work are examined. Key features of Kolchev’s poetics are analyzed through the prism of «eschatological horizon», which is typical of the poet’s worldview and attitude to the world. The article is focused on the problem of authenticity, which the poet also reveals by referring to the Gnostic myth. The problematization of authenticity of artistic expression and any cultural production is linked with the general movement toward death, which permeates the poetic space of Alexei Kolchev. At the same time, we reveal the possibility to overcome the extant given state of being, which is represented in the texts of Kolchev by using special figurative and metaphorical tools.
