We present a classification and a description of the types of functional semantic patterns in Modern English denoting a problem situation. It is shown that the context of one, two or three sentences allows one to define the main components of a problem situation. The authors propose a semantic classification of problem situation patterns based on their meaning and ability to be controlled and solved. |
