In this article, we examine the development of trade and economic cooperation between Turkey and Germany. Special attention is paid to the main fields of contemporary bilateral interaction: trade ties and mutual capital investments. The role of the Turkish diaspora in Germany to advance the bilateral economic relations is considered in detail. The authors also analyze both countries’ potential for the development of tourism. The article highlights some problems of Turkish-German economic cooperation that are related to the double taxation and visa issues as well as some policy factors. In conclusion, the authors’ view of the prospects for the Turkish-German economic relations is presented.
