In this article, we study the phenomenon of grammaticalization in the syntactic segment of infinitival structures in Modern German. Different points of view regarding the parameters of grammaticalization are examined and compared. Based on the criteria considered, infinitive structures that tend to be grammaticalized are selected and the semantic, morphological and syntactic changes in these structures are analyzed. Research has shown that the infinitives under analysis undergo loss or change of semantic meaning and they are characterized by a limited number of forms and possible compatible structures. On the basis of the established characteristics, the degree of grammaticalization of structures is described and their groups are formed. A list of auxiliary verbs and grammaticalized structures is presented.
