Abstract
In the framework of a one-dimensional steady-state model with local polarizability, we have calculated selfconsistent step-like electron density profiles settled down in an inhomogeneous plasma for a finite electron temperature and on a given background of the ion density distribution as a result of balancing between the average ponderomotive force of the alternating electric field (parallel to the density gradient) and the Coulomb and electron pressure forces.
